Just a note I got the S95. I didn't get an SLR because I can borrow them from my friend, and my friend can borrow my S95. When traveling, sometimes you just want to take a quick and fast picture....

The S-series are great cameras. I have a history of changing my point and shoots every year or so. After getting the S95 two years ago, I haven't even bothered looking at any new P+S since. I...

What is the difference between the powershot 110hs and this?

The S100 and 110 have the same optics. I posted a comparison link. You can use DP review to view images from all three cameras side by side. Use the "Compare to JPEG" page in any of the cameras...

The Canon is small, more pocketable, although I always carried mine in a belt pouch, anyway. The Canon has a greater zoom. The Canon has an auto lens cap. The Canon aperture ring can be programmed...

Rather stick with Canon/Nikon. Guess I'll get the s100

For anyone comparing this with S100 and trying to come up with a decision - there are a couple things of note: S110 has the next generation processor - what improvement this would bring - I don't...

I have the S90, had lens error problems with it after using it for a year! Research Canon Cameras a lot of S series have this issue.

While this is a fat discount off the normal price, sometimes IMO it's not enough to just look at that as the way to determine if a deal is slick. The S100 was only $230 on Amazon during Thanksgiving...

I have to agree. I have the S100 and love it. Moving up to the S110 would reduce my burst rate to 2.1fps from 10fps (which can be important for capturing action). Also, the S110 doesn't have the...

That's incorrect. The burst rates for the 2 cameras are nearly the same. S110 Approx. 2.1 shots/sec. (in P mode) Approx. 10 shots/sec.* (in High-Speed Burst HQ) S100 Approx. 2.3 shots/sec....

Nice camera, but I'll stick with my 300 HS. BTW, I got the 300 HS last year for $125 shipped without using any coupons or cashback. You would think the price would drop since then, but it has...

good deal because of the coupon. the going price on Amazon is $365.

You must mean $230 from some time in 2011 (the lowest s95 came in 2010 BF was $300 new--which I got also from newegg). I think if 1080p video, WiFi connectivity, touchscreen layout, 5x zoom vs 3.8...

If you want to have a camera that fits in the pocket. That's basically all. A SLR has a larger sensor so can take better night pictures and faster shots.

bought mine lx-7 on BF day, of course S110 is a much smaller in size. If you won't carry it in your pocket all the time, you can consider the LX-7

Ya not quite worth the $100 upgrade. $300 id bite. Might just end up getting the s100 if it goes back down.

Why should I get this instead of a Rebel T3?

i have the s95 from 2 BF ago at $230 and i'm tempted to get this S110 but as many others have said, it's probably not worth the $100 premium. that and i'll take a loss in selling the s95 now.
Post #56198742 added 12-18-2012 4:03 PM by Cracktower in Archived Deals
Although I paid around $100 for the 110HS which was selling for more than twice that much I thought I was getting a good deal. From what I know the s110 is 12.1mp while the 110HS is 16.1. It seems...

Just a note, it seems like these (S9X, S1xx) camera stay ~$200 price range even after a few years and used. I wonder if in 10 years these cameras will fall to $100 or lower..

X2 S100 for $249-$230 that's close to "~$200" imo

Higher megal pixels have nothing to do with better image quality. It's a great marketing gimmick that people fall into. It just simply means higher resolution prints -- it's just interpolation -- but...

To me, I'd choose the s110 over the 110hs any day. Being a DSLR user I enjoy the manual control and large aperture of the s-series camera, which is lacked on the 110hs. The s110 allows you to have...
