While the writes are slower than the 830 (and not by much), The IOPS writes are higher and so is the reads. This is still a decent SSD IMHO.

I believe the 128GB vs. 120GB difference is because the 840 assigns more for overprovisioning, under the assumption that TLC needs more than MLC.

Unless you're using this for enterprise purposes, you're never going to see an endurance problem with TLC.
