The drive comes with the plastic spacer screwed in place for 9.5mm height. (In the picture on eBay, the spacer is the black frame around the edge of the drive.) For 7mm, you remove the spacer.

the 520 is a great drive and rarely goes on sale, but this price... 240gb for 180? Samsung 830s have gone as low as 256 gb for 150.

You shouldn't worry. Both of them are one of the best SSDs. Unless you need/want the longer 5 year warranty, I think Samsung 830 is better.

On any item that says "more than 10 available" you can input the quantity you want. If that many are available it won't say anything but if they aren't available it brings up a little red message...

I have this drive installed and have 830 256 in closet in sealed box this drive is just as fast and it has a 5 year warranty so it gets a slight edge over the 830 not that you would notice any real...

I'd rate the Intel 520 as roughly comparable to the Sammy 830 (although I'm sure people can pick nits favoring one over the other). I'm using an 830 myself in the PC I'm writing this on.
