It says that it's VESA compatible, but if it mounts where the stand goes in, that would be a top loaded mount, so choose wisely.

I agree with you -- why would you pay a premium for a 55" low end/low pic quality TV when a 48-50" is less than half of the cost on sale. The Samsung I mentioned ends up being about a 23% premium...
