Oh that would have been nice. They are going for $1850.00 used so that would have been a no brainer. From what I see, $1999 is about best I can get now with 2%. Wish I had a 10% off coupon...oh well.

i contacted B&H and they assure me that this is a USA lens. In addition, this lens comes with USA warranty. Also, lens is warranted/registered on CANON website with no problem.

Far from a pro but the 1.4x extender you lose only 1 f stop so you lose a little speed. From what I've been told get the 1.4x if you're going to be shooting sports.
