Just one modification to this. You want the water to be a minute or two off the boil as boiling water can burn the beans and cause a char flavor. French press gives the best flavor IMO. It...

I should have mentioned I boil my water in a small frothing pitcher on an induction range, I've used the hot beverage thermometer and found that the temperature decreases rapidly for me as soon as I...

Not to nag, but if you have ever "Roasted" Coffee Beans yourself, you should know they are burned to hell and back in the standard Roast. So I presume you mean that the Coffee will taste bad as...

Filter is part of the plunger assembly. It's super easy and super fast when you get the hang of it. I used the guidelines at Peet's Coffee.. Basically throw coffee into the pot, add boiling water...

This is a good point, mine is all stainless steel and metal mesh (it's not Bodum). I will have to check if the plunger assembly for the Bodum Columbia is all steel or not.

Yea good point. Peet's for example is roasted very deep so you would get the char flavor from the level of roast. I'm not a fan of such a deep roast but I know many people are. To me it takes away...

I just bought the 1 liter Tea press. I have seen few presses that use glass as the handle, and I like the idea since if the interior steam parts can be removed, that means I can microwave the tea...
