SSD is way better. These mechanical drives fail a lot. The SDD will last you a long time. The warranty means nothing to me; you have to pay to get your data back.

The 500GB/1TB drives use 500gb platters, for normal HDD's the larger the platter combines with the rpm is what makes them fast. Which is why even a 5400 1tb drive is faster than a 7200 40gb drive
