I would just like to add that I also have several of the older model of this printer, the 8500, and have no issues with them. I was surprised when the 8600 had issues.

I second that. Also, the print heads need to be cleaned way too often.
I recommend a nice laser printer and a separate document scanner, designed for document scanning only.

I have both 8500 Plus and 8600 Plus. They work fine for me. I do agree though the ADF of the 8600 does not grab the paper straight. Something to keep in mind.
