They have a 30 day price protection - if you e-mail them they will refund or credit you back the difference. They did that for my T4i puchase and I used it to get the 40mm Pancake lenses.

Well, it really depends on what you are looking to get better images of. I find that on trips I go back and forth with my telephoto lens (55-250) to get closer images of things that are farther away...

I would agree with this too. Unless you take a lot of images inside with low light. If so, a 50mm might be better for you.
