I used Acronis True Image 2013 to do it for my laptop. HDD to samsung SSD. Super easy and works flawlessly. Can't beat free though, gonna grab for the heck of it.

I get this is free but I was surprised that one guy said Acronis had bad reviews. I've been using it to backup and restore images for years. (I don't use it for daily backups.) Works well.
