You have to remove the .txt file to unzip it... Right now the computer thinks its a text file. Also when you change it back to .zip you should be able to go to open with and it will give you a list...

Yes, it's a .htm file now even the extension is .zip because I chose the Google Chrome to open it. I don't know what you meant by "set associations", here the screen shot for properties":

no, it's a .htm file - look at the properties screenshot that you posted - go to "show known file extensions" or rename it to end in .zip as opposed to .htm

Honestly, as already stated several times, just use 7zip. Far more efficient and has far more features than any compression utility that Windows has created.

You just need to set your default program to not be google drive to open zip files. Installing 7Z will give you the option to have it be the default. You should be able to also do it in windows but...

Agree. BTW after a little googling it does look like Windows 8 does have native unzip much like Windows 7 did. You should not NEED a program but in this case z7 should fix the OP up.

You need to "choose default program" (after right clicking on it) and change the default program. Though it would be easier just to install 7zip or winrar and be done with it, they are better...
