I'm no expert, but reading through AnandTech and Tom's Hardware and a couple other places, it seems that SSD reliability is largely a myth. Yes, there are no moving parts, but they do give up the...

On paper only. Once and for all -> this article doesn't test TLC endurance! In fact it's not quite clear what it tests for. If you want to test TLC endurance, you need to keep writing...

I'm not too sure Intel is very serious about their SSDs. They're slower than they should be, overpriced and they don't hold up all that well compared to other MLC drives using alternate controllers....

Same for me when I ordered 10 hours ago. I just finished with CSR and was confirmed FarCry3 was included in my order (note: now as it doesn't show at all even in the cart). They stated the coupon...

how do you make a price match request to amazon? I realize they don't do personal price match but see people saying they "submitted" price match notices so hopefully amazon will adjust their...

SSDs are extremely reliable. They don't have moving parts whereas traditional drives do -- so SSDs last lots longer and failure rates are far more predictable. as with ANY hard drive, run a...

Yeah this is my first time with an SSD. So I guess I am waiting to be amazed since I have just been using a raptor for the last 4 or so years.

there's nothing to establish, you apply known physics (electricity) to known chemistry (TLC, MLC, SLC ingredients) and you have a known long term outcome. you don't put it all in an SSD and then...

840 is ok, but dont pay over .50/gig for TLC, huge gouge 840 is a litlte faster than the Intel 520 in most aspects, and much faster for 4K writes http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/357?vs=678...

The 5 years only holds true for heavy users...Anandtech did some calculations, and assuming that the user writes 10GB every day, it would take 7 years to wear out the 250GB 840 (of course, this...

Haha, no worries mate. It's hard to find a comparison to the Sandisk Extreme 240GB. I pretty much treat it as a Vertex 3 (which is not that far off). I love SSD roulette : 500GB 840 to (Main),...

How does that kill the deal? The 840 non-pro is faster than the Crucial M4 256GB that was just on sale for $160. It's not as fast as the pro, but it's still one of the fastest SSDs and the price is...

840 non-pro doesn't have as good long term reliability. It's not just about speed. The Crucial M4 is a proven winner.

Damn, if it was anything other than the 840, id be all over it. 840 have sketckhy issues related to reliability. They are not the 830's or 840 pro's. Reliability is important to me so I tend to...

I wouldn't touch this TLC version of the drive from Samsung. TLC is not ready for prime time...USB drives fine, but not a reliable SSD.
