2000 Civic ~ 216K miles. Been using Fram High Mileage filters from Walmart. Each are about $6.50. Don't see a reason to change up now.

I thought the basic purolator was paper. The Pure One was synthetic, and nabs 99.9% of the gunk. I think the basic one only does 97%?

Anything can be better and better.....but, even the cheapest filter can be good enough for its application.
I have never experienced or have known the most basic Purolator filter (paper or not)...

I don't know what you mean, but you always change the oil filter when changing the oil. With synthetic I usually change it at 7k, some people go up to 10k. That's what I do.

Kinda of agree. I remember reading some analysis by some oil filter expert. He stated that OEM are better than FRAM, but Mobile 1 and Bosch are the best.

Indeed. And in most applications the PureONE is at least equal to and in some cases superior to the Mobil1 version. Plus, PureONEs have the texturized shell which is nice. :)
