I use the WD green drives as backups for my faster Hitachi and Seagate drives. If you have 15TB of storage you need 15TB of backup but the backup doesn't need to be as fast.

why not just use 2 drives and parity like win8 storage spaces, unraid, or drive bender? or raid5 on card or windows server

ive had very good luck with these drives. scored 3 on BF. all running 24/7 in a data store with hyper-v. reads/writes are fast for such big drives.
