I used the 1st edition back in the day. 99 cents!!! That's crazy cheap. By 2006, multi cpus were already plentiful. I had already been using machines with up to10's of 1000's of cores for a 15...

This was the book I read in college for my graduate level Computer Science class. Man... Major changes since 2006 - the proliferation of multi-cores... the direction is to have many many cores.....

This is still the go-to book for most grad architecture classes. I had to use it 2 years ago. The main concepts have not changed, However, this book is more of a reference than a learning book imo....
