Because it is a cheaper panel. It uses a 6-bit IPS panel and not an 8-bit panel that a true IPS LCD would have. This gives it a smaller color gamut and makes it less suitable for professional work....

the korean/micro/mono monitors are IPS 27" monitors. They have a cheap casing, use factory 2nd panels and have limited firmwares and inputs. Otherwise they use the same technology.

FYI: The link goes to the Asus PA248Q (for less than $400). I thought that the Asus was a 6-bit display like the Dell U2412, but it looks like it is an 8-bit like the U2410.
