Also, if you're planning on going to Europe with AA miles, you can of course also use them on Airberlin (and book straight from AA's website). It seems taxes in Germany are a lot less.

There's an option during checkout to enter your membership #. You have to do that even for AB. You'd just select AA or BA from the list.

I'll mention they charge $19 for a seat reservation. I don't know how that compares to other carriers. You can pick your seats on online check in before the flight for free.
