Yes, and Disconnect 2 or 3 small ribbon cables.
Though, I was able to upgrade the ram just by cracking it open enough to pop the old RAM out and the new chip in. No disconnect required.

That is not normal for a GPU to go up to 80C. Probably the laptop cover starts throwing out smoke at that rate.

There's nothing wrong with the temp for a laptop. Laptops usually run significantly hotter than desktops. It's still nowhere near a dangerous operating temperature.
