I've never used a suction cup mount which didn't eventually loose its grip and fall off at some point, I'm gonna pass on this. CD mount or vent mount would be more reliable than a suction cup.

He might be referring to using the Nexus 7 with data for maps or even WiFi version with offline maps, it is not that bad to use 7" device for maps trust me, I am sure this holder wont fit Nexus 7.
