^ NiCd never has a long life. I'd stick to corded trimmers. Once you get used to keeping the cord out of the way, it's no big deal. Nice not to have to plan ahead by charging either.

A refurb battery alone is selling for around $25 so I think this is a good price. However there a lot of people on amazon complaining on how little a charge lasts. I would not buy it if I had to use...

I've had inconsistent results with the B&D NiCad batteries. I have 5 and two work perfectly and keep a charge but 3 are crap and don't last. I jumped in on the deal, we'll see.
