To all the people asking why this is "50-60 dollars" more, this is the 840 PRO! You're talking about the high-end best in class consumer drive, the price premium is because it's the best. These are...

Jealous. If I had known I would have jumped at that price. It'll be a while before the 840 pro is available at that price. And since the 830 isn't made anymore, it looks like I'll be forever waiting.

Not worth it to me. Just going to stick with Newegg.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/678?vs=665 Looks like sequential write is almost twice as fast. That should be noticeable on large files. Also the reliability is much better. 840 uses...

Yes, storage prices in general have crept up over the last couple of months. There was a glut of cheap SSDs in Oct/Nov and HDD bottomed out in early Dec. This is only a hot deal if you need to buy...

Well, the regular 840 has been in the $160 range within the last week or so. Makes sense to compare recent pricing. Some people need the capacity more than the ultimate speed. But as you point...

I have an early Feb 2011 Macbook Pro. I believe that is only SATA II. Does that mean I don't need (can't use?) the world's fastest SSD? Are there cheaper alternatives out there that would see the...

I was originally in the market for an 830 a few months ago, but was never able to nab one quick enough. I jumped on this 840 Pro right after Xmas when it was $224+free shipping, so this is a new best...

It's quite likely that you are. If people don't have the reading comprehension to know the difference between 830, 840, and 840 Pro by now then they are quite likely just posting nonsense in the...

Thumbs up 1++, OCZ needs to have more sales, they were the competitor that brought SSD prices low, pro/non-pro doesnt mean much since my heavy gaming is fast all together with an SSD. first ones to...

Is this true? I was about to jump on this drive until I read your post. I have the MC724LL/A version - which is the 2.7ghz version of the early 2011 model. Does this mean we could only use SATA II...

If Samsung ever gives you any problems, just call Adorama directly and ask them for a direct invoice to be sent to you. Then use that invoice for any warranty issues.

It's compatible but you won't receive the full performance of SATA3. Also, I am not sure if Apple specifies which SSD is compatible with it.

Would Samsung honor their warranty from an authorized dealer on eBay? Am I better off with the $215 (plus tax) deal from Newegg if I want to be sure I get more than a 30 day warranty? Anyone have any...

Don't bother with that ebay auction. It was for the 840 non-pro series 250gb version. Seller said it was a auction description mistake and did not know the subtle differences between the pro and...

Errr no. That was for the 830 or 840 non-Pro. This is the PRO version. I think this is the lowest it's ever been.

Not sure if it is necessary to but this over 840 for additional 50-60 dollars...... since the improvement of the speed is not noticeable.
