I was there about 10 years ago in May - and the lines are LONG! - Also advice.. Do NOT wear shorts nor tank tops to the Vatican. You will have to wear a very very cheap paper covering.

You probaby won't wait that long in March. It's a much better time of the year to go than in the summer (all those darn tourists LOL). It's worth it regardless IMO. ;)
