I think the 3020 is a bit better than 8350 in contrast, it also offers 3d obviously, but as you said no lens shift (no lens shift = useless projector to me). 8500UB is slightly better than 3020? ...

I sit 15 feet from a 140" image being projected by a Sony vpl-vw1000es. My Integra up converts 1080p to 4k. The difference is quite noticeable. I would not buy any 1080p set greater than 70"
