The 8x 16x style notation doesn't work with cameras because it doesn't tell you anything about how close in you can "zoom". Here is why the term is meaningless: A 4x zoom that starts at 35mm has...

I'm really considering purchasing this, but need to know how the stock lens does for zooming. Would it do well for indoor sporting events such as capturing a still of a player in mid shot at a...

With the lens that comes with this, what level of zoom can be achieved? I don't see it listed in the specs, at least not something I can understand (I'm only familiar with simple zoom terms like 8x,...

You might owned a different version. This camera came out on April, 06 2012 in the U.S.

I'll totally be selling each of the lenses for $100 on eBay. I just sold the same lens, the one I got with my GH2 kit, today for $105 shipped on eBay. Unless my coworker wants it, but I doubt he...

Dang still 12.1MP sensor? Yes, I know MP isn't everything but that's the same number since my GH1. How is GF5 compared to GF3 in terms of size/weight, features/performance ? *If someone is in...

The NEX will win at higher ISOs, it doesn't get similar until you get something like the GH3 or the OM-D. That being said, you won't need to go to ISO 1600 on the GF2 because the 25mm is F1.4...

I have the 20mm/1.7, not the 25mm/1.4. Since I have the GF2, I've manually capped my ISO at 800 since anything past that just sucks. Anything higher and I've compensated via flash (which is an...

I can't take my 5d mark iii everywhere like sports events and some events. They won't allow it since I might make money off taking photos and selling them. So I have to get a smaller reliable camera...

Check the Lens specs on each. The one on sale is the K variant with the longer 2.5" 14-42 zoom lens kit. The X variant that costs more is also a 14-42, but it's almost half the length when...

IN! I am a Canon fan and was going to pull the trigger on this when it was $399 as a Groupon Good only a few weeks ago, but opted not to. Was thinking it would be at this price end of 2013.

Good point. Not a true comparison with the PZ but for my purposes, I'm picking up the 20mm f1.7 anyway so cheaper body was more important for me.

If sony could be bothered to actually make a good prime pancake, then they'd be plenty pocketable. Regardless, I'll be keeping my Sony 16mm cake glued on all the time.

the newer 16mp sensor like the one in the GX1 is better for many reasons besides just being a higher mp rating... all things equal, a lower mp rating gives you better low light performance

This GF5 has a better grip for one handed shots, higher resolution LCD screen and higher ISO(12800) STEREO sound, not MONO over the GF3. Maybe some other hidden gems that I did not mention.

Nope. The GF5 is just another rev of the old 12MP sensor. It's a minor update to the GF3. It should really be called GF3 MK II. It doesn't compare to the GX1. Which by the way can be had for...

Unless you feel your e-420 is lack of something and the GF5 offers that something, then do the upgrade. Improving shooting is more important or more fun than upgrading the tool.

The GF5 with this lens doesn't make a lot of sense. Better to get the G3 with this lens, or the GF5 with the pancake zoom. The main advantage of the GF5 is it's size, but to tack on a big lens...

If slightly big size is not an issue, $259 from bensoutlet.com for Nikon V1 is a good deal. It has better picture quality than LX7, and its autofocus is one of the fastest mirrorless cameras.
