The warranty terms on the TD page say "12 months", so these are probably one of those 1-year warranty batches. That makes me feel a little suspicious. Makes me think these have lower quality...

yep, some are 1 year. The last couple 1tb barracuda retail boxed drives I got were only 1 year. Not sure it that has changed, but it was a couple months ago. They used to be 5 year a year ago! ...
