it greatly depends like the green drives use less power since its spins slower. newer greed drives arent that bad just get a reliable one. they shouldnt use more then 20w

The i3 3220 can do software decoding of hi10p (10bit H.264) using the CPU quite easily (fwiw, most standard desktop CPU's since 2007 or so can), but doing it by hardware with the onboard Intel 2500HD...
