I don't think u need anything extra. Your xps should have 2 or 3 extra cables in there. You can Velcro the SSD to the slot or let it hang there since there's no moving parts.

Wrong, you can use more than 2 drives in a raid 0 array. You'd want drives with good trim support for raid 0. Also, 1.5Gb/8 = 187.5

They're rated at a start IOPS once you put stuff on it it drops way down. And obviously no one will keep an empty ssd. The best ones are the Samsung 830, 840 Pro and Intel series
