FYI, change your power settings. Default I'm assuming it throttles back on the CPU in order to save the battery, but you should be able to disable that (although your battery life will suffer).

My 15" laptop is 1366x768. My wife's laptop has the same res with 13" and it hurts my eyes to use it without zoom. I get your point about screen estate though. I guess 13" laptops aren't for me.
