Those a**holes They say on the rebate form to fill in your email "This is the quickest way to communicate with you" They didn't even email me to tell me my rebate was rejected. I had to search and...

This time it's different. It's not "invalid UPC code" or similar nonsense that gets fixed with a phone call. Symantec and/or Parago are willfully violating the terms of their rebates by arbitrarily...

I told you, mine were approved from the last Fry's offer a few weeks ago. I purchased instore, not online, and I presubmitted the $50 rebate. Perhaps one or both factors played a part in my rebates...

screw norton... i switched over to bitdefender!:) - probably for the rest of my life!

To me, unless the terms of the rebate explicitly define "excessive" or otherwise state 1 per product per year, then Symantec is choosing not to honor its rebates either directly or by not stomping on...
yup, and we will just have to see how this pans out.

I just did a live chat with the symantec rebate customer service to ask what is the audit process and how does one get stuck in it. He said the "system" determines which rebates a subject to audit. ...

Norton rebates have been great for the last several years but now seems like a terrible time to try any more. I'm taking a wait and see approach. Too much $$ if it's not a sure thing.

Here's a good question. Norton was advertised on Fry's as free after rebate. Norton was purchased. Rebate was submitted and now being rejected due to reseller speculation. Can they legally...

If they are going the way of Mcafee...doesn't matter how much high school fight spirit you have. Your two options will be: 1) accept it, 2) small claims court.

Theory would also make no sense...since many there are stating the rebate company could not give them a firm answer why the rebate was invalid. If if was a packing slip vs. invoice issue...it would...

Were they Symantec or McAfee?

Maybe whoever was in charge of McAfee rebates jumped ship and now heads up Symantec Rebates at Parago. Such bullshit tactics... calling you a reseller/dealer and invalidating your rebates on a...

Please stay away from this offer and risk the entire money. it is very sure that Symantec will invalidate it.

The Frys "Packing Slip" since about 2011 have said "INVOICE" right at the top. That is not the problem.
interesting point you bring up, but we still need to find out the exact reason that is causing people to have their rebates invalidated, like submitting excessive rebates in a certain amount of time.

I wonder how many of those folks sent a copy of their packing slip vs the Fry's invoice from order history

I've always send the packing slip for all Frys rebates and received the rebates (until the whole Symamtec debacle mentioned above). Just curious, do you think there's a difference between sending...

don't do it if you have recently purchased this product
Post #57289324 added 02-01-2013 6:49 AM by iridium in Archived Deals
Don't do it if you have done any Norton/Symantec rebate recently. The rebates that were invalidated for me were for bundles I had never bought.

symantec is currently invalidating rebates from frys. ...and others
i have always submitted the check out receipt, e-mail confirmation, and invoice for symantec rebates. yes, it might be a bit over-kill, but better to be safe then sorry.

ok ? Thanks for sharing random thoughts, I guess...but that doesn't really have anything to do with current discussion (and hence why this thread is getting so much red).
actually, it does. it could help people from getting their rebate invalidated.

Could this be the same as Trend Micro allowing only 3 rebates on the same day? About 1 month ago, Parago invalidated 1 of my 4 rebates from Trend Micro. I called them up and the CSR lady explained to...
