Thanks for the clarification! I didn't know that. I like the price of the 5w30 Mobil 1 at Walmart, and it's high enough quality for me. However, that doesn't mean that it's good enough for everyone.

A quart for every 2500 is a bit excessive, is this a new issue since using synthetic oil perhaps? I'd clean out your pcv valve or replace it and switch to a high mileage oil that will swell areas...
