Yeah, I made the mistake of assuming it was a "deal" when the price drop occurred (sorry). I figured I could at least point potential buyers in the right direction to get the most out of his/her...

Dxomark is really not a valid way to say one camera is much better than another. There is a lot more to it than that.

Agreed. But all else is subjective. This is objective.

G3 and G5 are close in terms of IQ and high ISO, and better on other aspects.

I currently have canon t2i, sony nex-f3, and panasonic gf2. I actually like using the f3 over the t2i for many things. canon white balance is too warm for my taste. the gf2 was a big...

Are you sure PDAF can be used for video? I did not say M43 without PDAF was better, what I said was: if PDAF cannot be used for video on NEX-6 and the next (NEX-6N?) can, will you spend another $1000...

Those "1/3 the price" M43 cameras don't come close to the IQ of the NEX. The M43 camera that does is the OMD. That is most definitely not "1/3 the price".

You can use EPP to bring down the price to $809 in the Sony Store: https://slickdeals.net/f/5695506-Sony-com-Sony-Store-EPP-Sign-Up I actually bought this 2 weeks ago at the then-EPP price of $899...

Scores are objective. Photos are not. Two people can look at the same photo. One can proclaim it to be the worst photo in history, the other can proclaim it to be the best. So even if PDAF was...

Is it worth buying at this price point. I am definitely looking into buying the NEX 6 or NEX 7.

It depends if you want an extra two stops less noise, shallower depth of field ability, a viewfinder, and manual controls. The PZ lens is also not a very good lens optically and is not included in...

$900 is the new price, but these bundles come with maybe $60-80 in extras for the same price.

The lens is still significantly larger than Panasonic's PZ and video cannot use phase detection that's the big thing about 5R and 6. Panasonic M43 is much better buy for 1/3 the price.

Not at all. Granted the G3/G5 are head and shoulders above the 1st gen M43 cameras, which are borderline unusable now. Compared to the NEX, they aren't even close. They don't even compare well...

Scores are scores, not photos. Even so, it does not justified the 3x or even 2x price tag, because NEX is still a work in progress. For example, PDAF is still not implemented for video. My argument...
