top of the line consumer desktop CPUs don't get outdated in one refresh cycle, this isn't the mobile world. It's not going to suddenly drop in performance when Haswell is released.

I see your point, as to not spend top dollar on an ivy at this time, but I hardly think an i7-3770K will be outdated any time soon.

For what we know haswell might be inferior ( performance wise / oc stability) to ivy. And there's no official release date for haswell. If you have more info specs/ release date feel free to post it....

Or if you happen to not live on the east coast. The lowest online price for this processor was $250 on black friday and it lasted only a few hours. I have not seen an online price for this processor...

Actually, Microcenter has very comparable pricing on motherboards as well. i7-3770K is $230 by itself, no need of any combo discounts. I do not know how they can sell for $100 less than anyone else...
