No sales tax for most, is a good thing, but even 119 is not that hot. 90 like BF sale is uber hot, 119 is just 5-10 below what you can find around the country

this one was on my wish list on amazon but 20 dollars more. this is superior to the WD green drives as a secondary drive, right?

All the drives I have owned in last 20 years which failed were Seagate and Maxtor. Seagate was better before they purchased the crap quality Maxtor. My last Seagates were the 1tb 7200.11 which had 4...

Agree this isn't a killer price, but a decent deal if you need one now. Disagree that Seagate isn't great quality. You do know that Western Digital and Seagate are pretty much it now, right?...

3 years on WD Red? Ah, so they do! Aren't the Red drives slower spindle speed like the Green drives, though? They look like semi-enterprise versions of Green drives to me, and are priced a little...

As far as I can see, both WD and Seagate have the same warranty periods. 2 years for standard consumer drives, 5 years for enterprise drives. WD extends 5 year warranties for their "Black" enthusiast...

Seems fair advice. Everyone has their superstitions. So I go with wd and the better warranty and past history. I suspect a lot of these have to do with shipping issues, cooling setup, and cases....

I miss the pre-flood prices for spinning HDDs. Last HDD I bought was a Samsung 2TB for like $70 or less after CB a year ago. When did Seagate reduce their warranty to 2-years? Is it a recent thing?
