Safe bet that you'd need an adapter. Given the iPod models that it is compatible with, it must have the old-style 30 pin connector, rather than the new Lightning connector.

Just get this adapter and be able to use any iDevice with it, so if your like me and have a iP4 and iP5 this comes in really handy with old docks that still use the 30 pin!...

Those wattage numbers are pretty meaningless. Don't buy this thing assuming anything about the wattage, and you should be happy.
