I am not sure why you think this could not run netflix. It is barebones, but should handle Windows great. Win7 and you could run netflix from a browser (wouldn't handle HD since silverlight is dumb)....

yeah but netflix is an entirely different beast. silverlight is horrible and i think uses CPU for decoding exclusively. the atom simply doesn't run it....

no tv tuner, but you can sometimes get the older hdhomerun network based tuners on ebay on the cheap. i would recommend this over a usb tuner.

Untrue. Run win8 on it and it'll run netflix HD great. run win7 and it'll run netflix SD great! Stand by my word. The graphics card can bitstream HD audio and play the three blu-ray codecs, as well....

XBMC does netflix through plugins. I believe Hulu has a plugin as well. They aren't the fanciest, but they work.
ISO's and HD movie playback will work fine in XBMC. That's what it's made for....
