These are the nice omni-directional ones... and probably come with 2 year warranties where you can just bring the bulb back to the store (with receipt)... alas, about $20 at my store.

Whats the benefit of these over fluorescent? Even at this price compact fluorescents have slightly more lumens/watt and are a lot cheaper.

This is an LED light, not CFL. LED lights get hot, that's why they have visible fins... for cooling. In a can light, air circulation can be very poor.

Yeah, I am thinking of getting some more tomorrow. They are definitely 60-75w equivalent. Very bright. The color is also great. It is a little bit on the warm side. About 60% Warm / 40% Cool.

First, you can't compare these to the cheapest CFLs you can find because these are dimmable. A CFL that can dim will cost almost as much, and I've never seen a CFL that can dim below 20%...
