You can buy the carrier ones without contracts if you pay full price. Always been that way. I guess using it on an MVNO is a good reason to get one, but you could probably find an unlocked branded...

There really is not much point in getting this if you're in the U.S. All carriers offer their own version, and its very true to the international version while supporting that carriers 3G and 4G...

yeah, this is the international version, so you only get 2G on Tmobile, and 3G on ATT
