Yeah...I guess its just luck whether you get a bad one or not. Apparently Lenovo is still selling the ones with the WIFI problem, which is a head-scratcher.

Yeah - pretty stupid on their part. Based on my research, and I have done quite a bit because I tried to convince myself to keep this laptop, it seems like there is a design flaw with the...

Apparently. The wifi still functions but if you run a speedtest of my U410 against my old laptop or my gf's macbook pro the difference in dl/upload speeds is stark. I am talking like....4 mbs on the...

I think I will go with the 510 from Staples for $100 cheaper. http://www.staples.com/Lenovo-Ideapad-U510-59355296-156-Laptop/product_990645?externalize=certona
Why not just order a replacement keyboard? It is too much work to fix a laptop keyboard... almost every time I try to take a key off, I break the norch....

that resolution on a 14" isn't horrible, but the issue isn't about games. It's about browser and document real-estate. 1366x768 is just meh for any kind of browser work. Also, I have no idea...

From what I've read (cuz I'm interested in this machine), Lenovo acknowledged the hardware issue and said it was a problem on models build before July of last year. Obviously when you order online...

This computer is a NIGHTMARE. Honestly. I am returning it. Wireless is awful - even after the claimed fix. So, so slow! And customer service was hilariously bad. NO ONE could understand me and I got...

If you don't care for the NAS (which looks pretty lousy), Amazon is selling a newer model for $550. http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-U410-14-0-Inch-Ultrabook-Graphite/dp/B009AEPVFG/ Difference is the...

Total nub question, isn't Gigabit LAN only necessary if you're going to be downloading more than 100mb/s?

1366x768 is a horrible resolution. The pixels are so large you can see them all. Text is blocky. Have you tried writing code at that resolution? You can see like 10 lines of text. You can't shrink...

What do you mean by NAS? Just by looking at these two laptops. I don't know why anyone wouldn't get the Amazon one over the Newegg one. Why was this not posted? lol
Post #57616114 added 02-15-2013 9:16 PM by xiphosurus in Archived Deals
The Newegg deal comes with a separate 2TB NAS (network attached storage), which is a HDD you hook up to your network so you can use it as a shared network drive.
