No, it's not perfect. I run a hackintosh at home myself. There are minor issues you have to watch out for.

That's pretty cute; I have an elitebook. We had to pay for everything. coverage is indeed a line item when you see the purchase fulfillment. It was $1800. I know, because I bought move than 150 of...

Glad to hear that the Surface Pro works for you, really. That puts you in pretty exclusive company. Personally, I don't include a bunch of cables and USB hubs in my definition of highly portable. I...

The half a pound difference is not as significant as the upgrade for the screen is. I would definitely recommend picking up the retina, plus the performance over the air would be a slight bump.

Yep, Apple managed to package up at least three similarly-specced laptops in the 2.5GHz boxes from the other thread. Mine also had 0 listed for charge cycles, so it was as brand new as these ones but...

ALL apple products are extremely marked up and over priced. This still do. makes surface pro looks much better pricewise.

This. My last laptop was an Asus and it was well spec'd and priced at the time. The build construction is sub par (after 2.5 years plastic parts are coming loose) but the thing that bothers me most,...

Really? Apple laptop prices have dropped significantly over the past 6-8 years, to the point that (at MSRP) they're nearly the same price as their similarly specced competitors. That started with the...

You can install ML on the zenbook and it works 100%. And zenbook cost far less

Just because all the other laptops use them too doesn't mean they aren't the fastest xP

Actually I spent about $300 more than this craptop costs for my workstation that outperforms this by leaps and bounds. Hell my processor alone pulled off an easy 10,500 passmark score before...

"Business class laptops" vary quite little from "cosumer class laptops". The warranty coverage you speak of is a line item, it's not included. The life cycle of covered laptops is typical 4 years not...

It depends. Some Dell stuff, particularly their mobile workstation line, used to be even more expensive than Apple stuff for comparable hardware. But, in recent years, due to the huge success of the...

Totally agreed. Unless you're doing something extremely high visual, there's no need for this resolution. I prefer just having a 1080o display to keep cost down and confirm with standards but apple...

Not true, you might get similar spec on pc for $600 when it's on sale but the build quality of those laptop tends to be garbage. I do see Asus zenbook around that price but still have to deal...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834312439 Speaking of 1080p.. I think I just found the best spec'd laptop for a grand I've ever seen. If I didn't just buy a Surface Pro,...

The juvenile tone you're using makes it difficult to take the content of your message seriously. This is not an insult, just a helpful suggestion.

Also IdeaPads are junk. The only decent Lenovo laptops are ThinkPads.

Certainly the latter. The pad on the series 9, for example, is excellent. But that's from 10 minutes of standing with it at a store. Read any reviews and occasional issues come up, inability to do...

This has a non-consumer-replacable SSD drive, correct? If so, I would avoid this *unless* you don't mind paying Apple's premium after a few years (or only plan to have it a few years). Granted...

Think it's a great deal, but tax kills this for me in NY. To be honest I think the standard price should be $1200 for this particular machine. And this is coming from someone who owns several...

What the bloody hell is an iGPU? That is a feature that exists on Asus motherboards, not Crapple laptops.

The one I linked is SLI, that one doesn't appear to be. But even then, that price is awesome. I'd much rather use that than this Dell Precision Mobile Workstation I'm on right now.

Hmm... T410 is pure junk. It would far easier to sell Asus, Toshiba Tecra, or a Samsung for 50%. I sold my Samsung NC-10 netbook for 70% of its value after 2 years of use. You can't compare Apple...

Smaller viewing angles are better for privacy...but when you colors shift when tilting the screen 5 degrees vertically then you have an issue if you do any graphic work.

lol Too bad you have to "hack" it to get it to run at it's native resolution. Even when you do, have fun running 2560x1600 on an HD4000 LOL. 1080p is about as far as I'd go on integrated GPU's.

I would laugh so hard if I looked at your Macbook only to find that you've been running low resolution the whole time without even realizing it, only to go around boasting about how nice your 900p is.
