depends on the functionality you want, the speakers you have, the ohm rating of the avr you plan to use, if you want multi channel audio, different sources in different rooms concurrently etc etc etc...

no argument there. Audio is very subjective. Pioneer and Polk have been in the speaker business for quite a while. I have the 2 way and 3 way 8" Monoprice and didn't realize how muddy the sound was...
