Quite the opposite actually. The Walmart ones are plenty firm. The very few negative reviews it has are people actually complaining that they are too firm.

These foam toppers are crap. I would recommend saving up and buying the bed or nothing. We have a Novaform bed from Costco that is great. Got a topper and it's utterly useless.
