Agreed that these are really pointless at this price. However, ear canal buds like these CAN perform extremely well. I think in particular all the SD'ers that jump on the HD 200 and 400 series deals...

Yup, the CX870 are great earbuds for the price. I can't see paying $300 for any earbuds when these sound so good for $30.

Try reading above. From Sennheiser directly. And no the aviators are good, look at the reviews. Even audiophiles won't bash them.

Are you sure you didn't get fake ones? I find it very hard to believe that you couldn't tell the difference. I have a pair and I love them. Though I didn't pay $300 for them.

I got them from Sennheiser after my IE8s broke, so yes they are real. As were the IE8s before them. I was unimpressed with the IE8 and still unimpressed with the IE80s
