Note that all of the 3/8" sockets that are not deep are 12-point...not really the best for most purposes IMO.

Nobody is forcing you to buy anything... you always have the choice to NOT buy it. They also sell kits that are metric or SAE only... this just happens to be a kit that has both.

If I didn't have a complete line of Gearwrench metric sockets I would jump on this. Really nice find. However, I'm still puzzled as to why tool manufacturers continue to combine metric with SAE...

I find that amusing because I've heard it the other way a lot more often. I know several guys that work on antiques, race cars, street rod and muscle cars. They don't work on their modern drivers.
