You put them in series. I.E. - The output of one tank goes to the input of the other. :iagree: I only use them when I have to, but they do work great.

One that old you should have someone do for you, it mite have some odd fittings on it. 40 gal gas one from Ace is about $375.00. But you could buy the best type there is, BW heaters or similar.

I have looked into gas tankless and right now, natural gas prices are so ridiculously low that I would not see a significant savings over using my tank heater. Electric I can understand.
