That's odd as it has very good reviews and 1 instance of flashlighting that I can see. Seems to go against your experience with it.

Just to note that this model is actually 120 Hz -- the "Motionflow XR240" is simply marketing lingo. Still a good deal, though.

Flashlighting is indeed backlight bleed through the corners (a term coined by the community!). It becomes horrible when the light guide is not aligned properly when the back panel is put together.

On AVS forum, I have seen a few reports of flashlighting (includes the EX640 series also). Mine had severe flashlighting (see picture).
