Apple specs say that its upgradabe to 8gb but you can max it out at 16gb. Use Carbon Copy Cloner. Just google it.

The new MBP computers are not user upgradeable. Purchase it the way you want it because it will be cost prohibitive to upgrade it. I love Apple products, but this sucks!

That's not true; any 64-bit CPU can address multiple PETAbytes of RAM. I know for a fact that Sandy and Ivy Bridge MBPs can handle 16GB of RAM with no issues, so anyone considering upgrading,...

Hold on....so the BIOS will support 16GB of RAM even tho Apple says it maxes out at 8GB? Do any other MBP's have the same ability to recognize more RAM than the specs call for?
