I'd recommend using a decent cheap-ish synthetic that is better for longer OCIs. You'll be doing changes less often and using a better oil, too.

I hope they don't disqualify rebate because the oil was purchased from Amazon and not a B&M store. Anyone ever bought it from Amazon and done this particular rebate before? I've only bought this...

I see nothing in the Rebate PDF that disqualifies online merchant purchases, and I will argue that if my rebate is denied. This is my worry too, though.

I know nothing about cars and engines. I get my oil changes done from Firestone or Sears (whichever is cheapest). My car is an old 90s American car, with about 130,000 miles on it. Do you...

Is there a limit on these rebates -- e.g., can I get 2 times the high-mileage oil or 1 of each deals?

You can take your own oil/filter and ask them to use that instead. I believe most shops will charge you labor. You should be fine with either choice. You won't know it's making a difference...

It's not like they give you used oil full of dirt. It's fine for whatever car you drive, I'm sure.

I highly recommend the maxlife for high mileage engines, I've used it on two engines that had slow leaks and the additives they use in maxlife are outstanding for reducing engine leaks.

And as we know everything on the internet is true. He wasn't asking about a quality filter, just a deal on filters. $1.25 for a filter is a deal. It's a Fram though. It's their high mileage...
