You get 3%, your only way around this would be to buy a Kroger giftcard in Kroger then use it at the pump. Not worth the extra effort.

I dont have preferred blue cash just regular blue cash. Every time I get gas at King Soopers(Kroger) I get only 2% instead of 3% . It has something to do how they report a sale.

I have researched this, but I haven't come across an answer yet. If I use my Amex Blue Cash Preferred card on Kroger gas directly (not buying giftcards in the store first), then do I get 6% cashback...
