Well, I'm sure opening it up would cause warranty issues, I've never specifically asked them if they could do it for a price, you'd probably have to call them and ask if that is possible.

I used photoshop as an example, I'm not really sure how smooth it would run... but MS word and Excel is working really well, I use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard so everything is wireless.

Funny how people bitch about an iPad being around the same price when this isn't running some shitty mobile processor and limited by an oversized screen running a phone OS. God people are idiots.

9 ounces? With a mechanical hard drive? Something is off here. There aren't any 9 oz 10" tablets. Actual weight is 2.1 lbs (= 950g = 34 ounces) from the Skytex website.

By oversized screen, I meant that all they did for their iPad was carbon copy the iPhone OS and put it on a bigger screen. As far as mobile processing, I meant ARM. I couldn't think of the term...

It can run all Windows apps, but some of them run too slowly. Photoshop is so slow as to be practically unusable when run on an Atom.

You can get a comparable cedar trail atom (new gen) for about the same price as this... Low specs, high price, not a slick deal... :(

Skytex? Never heard of them before. Isn't Ipad a better for this price range?
Post #57863146 added 02-27-2013 10:09 AM by koolaznfool in Archived Deals
There's probably plenty of arguments for that, but you are getting an x86 Tablet PC, meaning most of your office programs and other software will be compatible. Just my 2 cents
Post #57871718 added 02-27-2013 3:54 PM by scrid2000 in Archived Deals
