Well that's strange. There was a different promo code when I checked out. I think it was "ppssoczssdeb" but it doesn't work now. A whole bunch of the drives were advertising it. Now its...

My bios says it on startup when in IDE and AHCI mode, so I left it at that. Edit: It says something similar to OCZVERTEX280GB 1.37 Edit 2: Battlefield 3 takes 29 seconds from join server to...

Just about every OCZ product I've used sucked. I had several SSD's crap out due to bad firmware. When they did, and the bad firmware was common knowledge, OCZ decided to stick me with sending it in...

This is about first-generation Sandforce (Vertex 2) with 25nm NAND. The drives in this deal use 25nm NAND and Sandforce, so the info is relevant. Samsung's TLC NAND is only rated for 750 cycles....

I upgraded a 2008 MacBook Pro 15" with an 80 GB Intel X25-M that I got for $42 on sale (AR). It made the machine much nicer to use, especially with the RAM upgrade. That deal is over, but the Vertex...

I ordered the OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III drive for $59.99 shipped. But all this talk about refurbed SSD's not being a good idea got me thinking. I remembered I had a $25 off...

Normally I'd agree, but Sandforce SSDs are a special case. They have a write amplification of .5 to .6. That's well below the amplification of other controllers. This means the actual amount of data...

OCZ and Refurbished are the two word combo I would prefer to avoid.

I'm a glutton for punishment..... I just couldn't pass up a SSD for 40 bucks.

I've had multiple failures with OCZ SSDs in the past. I would not buy any of these without some sort of extended warranty in place.

I managed to get an Agility 4 256GB new for $99 through a pricing error back in November (thx TigerDirect!). People would say avoid this drive like the plague, but at that price, it can't be beat. ...

Heh, I'm already plenty modern - have a bunch of 240GB (Sandisk Extremes, Agility 3s) and 500GB (Samsung 840s), but could never find a cheapie ~80GB SSD for test purposes :bounce:
Should have gotten the V300 for $10 more, much better imo.

I think I paid $65 AR for my new OCZ agility 3 120gb and $139.99 for my new Intel 330 240gb last year, so these prices aren't great. On the other hand, prices have gone up slightly. I also think,...
